The homepage back in July 2023

Today marks a special day where it was exactly 12 months ago I allowed access to this website publicly.

Over the last 14 months I have been working tirelessly hard to get my website up to the standards I would like and I am extremely proud of how it is looking right now.

Due to being poorly back in January it did cause me to delay certain things that I would have wanted to do, but looking back now it was probably needed.

For most of last year, I was doing too much and in the end my body decided to shut down.

The amount of stress I put my body through, in the end it couldn't cope and then caused me to have 3 weeks off work being house bound.

If you didn't see my social media accounts, I came down from a viral infection in my inner ear which then caused me to suffer from vertigo and high anxiety.

I was going from being really active to being bed bound and most evenings, I ended up crying with fear of what I was going through but I am so thankful that I had a support network around me to keep me going.

While going through this though, it did make me realise that health is important and everything else like work and having a social life is more of a luxury, even though we don't always see it as this.

While I wasn't heavily active on my campaign work, I did regularly add certain things to my section when I did feel like it and to keep the information current.

When I launched ckmoxford, my main aim was to build a Mental Health platform but also showcase what people do.

For me, it is also about managing Mental Health and that could be through various things:

I love going to concerts (so I have artists on my website), I love Musical Theatre and Dance (so I have a section for that), I love fitness (so I have launched Miles and Minds and have a fitness section for that too) plus other things too.

Of course there are other ways that helps with peoples Mental Health and eventually I will try and put as much as I can but this is a start.

After losing my Mum when I was 11, I wasn't given any help or support so my aim is to build a sense of community by sharing what is around me.

Over time, my website will grow even more and become even stronger than it is today.

I cannot imagine what it will look like in another 12 months time on my next anniversary.

I have so many ideas and options to explore but having the foundations of my website, needs to be the primary start.

This website is the hub of everything I do and it feels me with so much pride knowing that it could help at least one person.

Everyone that I have on this website, is either starting out in that particular industry or they do it for pleasure.

I have a personal connection to each and every person that I am sharing on this website and I am so grateful for those involved to allow me to share their work.

I want to say a massive Thank You to The Lucy Rayner Foundation for allowing me to work along side you and supporting me through my journey.

Without your support, I wouldn't be able to sign post people to those who really need help.

I know the last 18 months hasn't been easy for various reasons but I absolutely love working with you and I cannot wait to see where we are in months and years to come.

Me and Paul Mcgregor back in 2018

I also want to do a massive shout out to PAUL MCGREGOR who gave me the confidence a few years ago to just go for it.

Even though you may not have done the physical work on this website, this project started because of you.

If you don't know Paul, his Dad sadly passed away to Suicide and he has been campaigning for years to help people who are grieving one way or another.

His team, Everymind at work is partnered up with several companies now helping colleagues who needs support and it is amazing that his company is teamed up with my workplace, Midcounties Cooperative to help my colleagues who need help and support.

YOU ARE AMAZING and I will see you soon.

Over the next 6 months, it will be Oxford Half focus and then Christmas but in January, I will be going to have a meeting again with team Rayners to discuss 2025 plans and I cannot wait to get stuck in.

More will be shared once I am able to.

If you are interested in helping me with any fundraising in Oxford, please get in touch.

I cannot do it alone!!!

Now that is enough reading this blog, go and check out my website to see what I have been up to 😊

Love

Steve
