POEM 6
We heard it on the radio
that it's gonna be a scorcher
so I put it to my husband
my grown up sons and daughter
and get some fresh sea air
they looked up in amazement
and genuinely looked scared“
I can’t take my iPad
with all that gritty sand”
“I won’t get any Wi-Fi
you just don’t understand?”
We overcame that hurdle
when I mentioned paying rent
they really made an effort
and a lovely time we spent
We had a little paddle
a stroll along the pier
It’s just a shame the whole U.K.
had shared the same idea
